Unbuffed is built by a dedicated team of veteran raiders who share an unapologetic passion for a 20-year-old game. Armed with determination and decades of experience, we are creating the guild we always wanted to play in. Ahead of the launch of Classic+, we are inviting anyone to join us who shares our passion. Recruitment for our raids will open later. Our long-term vision is to play with people who are as driven as we are at the frontier of a game that is yet to be released. Unbuffed is a uniquely ambitious attempt to create a healthy and stable guild environment that will stand the test of time.
We believe that the essence of a healthy guild is a culture of respect and support that is shared independent of the players’ individual ambitions. We thus separate the recruitment for the guild from the recruitment for our raids. Our guild is open to anyone who is passionate about Classic+ and enjoyable to play with.
Recruitment for individual raids will open after the game has launched and we have clarity over our members’ ambitions and capabilities. Players will be matched to raids according to their scheduling preferences, ambitions, and performance. At least one raid will be an ambitious speedrun on Wednesday evening.
The era of spreadsheets is over. We built scalable infrastructure to support multiple independent raiding environments and facilitate guild and roster management. Raid leaders will be able to customise their raid setup with a new system that disseminates pre-defined strategies and relays assignments to individual players via Discord.
Our vision pays homage to the guilds of old, creating a shared legacy beyond the game itself. We do what we love and don’t mind the time and resources it takes. This is the game we have been waiting for, and we’re all in.
We’re building on two years of continuous raiding in Season of Discovery, where we experimented with different concepts and refocused our vision. Our principles and processes are tried and tested, and we have the infrastructure in place to deliver a frictionless guild experience. Ahead of the launch of Classic+, we are recruiting with a view to map out our members’ ambitions and expected time commitment. We will then match players with similar profiles to build a unique starting experience for all of us. With many variables unknown at this point in time, we will remain flexible and course-correct as needed.
